Here we attempt to relate the material properties of the yield stress material to the amount of tip deflection, by validating a model with experimental data.
• measure needle tip deflection due to change in speed and carbomer concentration over a number of rotations
• create a model of the system, which will be used to translate material properties into needle tip deflection
• use the material properties of the carbomer to identify the physical model that describes/predicts the tip deflection
• use the theoretical model to adjust a needle path plan to obtain square corners
