Project goals

• using the plane DIC method, drag a needle through the volume at various successive distances from each path to measure the extent of elastic and inelastic regions.
           • vary the concentration of the carbomer 
• After the above experiment is done, turn the experiment 90° and use a constant distance from each path but vary the time between experiments from 1 day to 30 days
          • Need to find a white paint layer that will not diffuse into the carbomer as much as the spectra white paint. ​

Project Progress

Week of 9/17/17 - investigate ways to either avoid printing the white plane, or create a white plane that does not diffuse

Week of 9/25/17 - create all carbomer concentration specimens 200 mL per, and run Day 1 tests
